History

1889-1973

Nintendo was founded On 1889/9/23, by Fusajiro Yamauchi. Starting as a playing card producer.

In 1929, Nintendo experienced its first leadership transition when Fusajiro Yamauchi stepped down & his son-in-law, Sekiryo Yamauchi, took on the role as president.

On 1940/1/1, Fusajiro Yamauchi died of a stroke at the age of 80.

In 1973, Nintendo released the Laser Clay Shooting System, Nintendo's first video game.

In 1974, Nintendo released Wild Gunman, a electro-mechanical arcade game. Which was adapted for the NES in 1985.

On 2002/5/24, Hiroshi Yamauchi would step down as president of Nintendo & Satoru Iwata became the fourth president of Nintendo.
